So today I was playing Super Mario 3D Land when I knew I should be playing Sapphire and in one level there were three bees flying around. I jumped on two of them and while I passed the third one I thought, "Sorry about your cousins." I know that if I said that out loud someone would ask, "How do you know they're cousins?" And that, is one not very smart, A.K.A stupid, question. I KNOW they're cousins just like I KNOW this year's orchestra shirt has a viola on it, not a violin. And this year's orchestra shirt definitely has a viola on it.

Wow, I just noticed the weirdest thing. I had 22 page views on the 23rd. It may seem like a small number to you guys, but it's probably the largest number I've had. It makes me realize how happy I am to know that you'll still come here... and how stupendously horrible my guides are; 22, a new record.

Hey! I'm back!
So, I don't know if I said this, but in China, I had planned to do a lot of work on the guide, but that's not how things went down.
First I didn't charge my DS before leaving. Second, I brought the wrong charger. So, when I got on the plane I took out my DS and started playing. After about, I don't know, 2 minutes, my DS went on red. What am I supposed to do?! After my flight to LA which took a couple of hours, I think, I boarded a 13 hour flight to Shanghai. The only thing to accompany me was my bag and the thought 'What am I going to do now?'
After I got to China, I realized that I could ask my mom to mail my charger to me, but I was afraid of what she would say. In the end, I did and she asked me, 'are you in a hurry to get it it?' to which I replied, 'No, no, not at all.' It was a lie. I wanted that charger really, Really, REALLY bad. So she said that she'd mail it on the weekend. Seriously mom?! It was like, Monday when she said that. She called again over the week and I confessed that I really wanted that charger. I highly doubt that she mailed it any sooner.
I was about to add a lot more, but long story short, I got the charger, every outlet was 220V or 250V, I needed 100-120V, I couldn't charge, I couldn't play. Plane ride back; sorry, I don't really remember the events of my last life very well.

Contests
Hey guys. Now might be a good time to give a heads up. I'm fairly straight forward with story line until contests come up. I'm sorry if I get a little distracted.
Strategy:
In any case, Today I competed in my first Hoenn Region contest in a long time. I am proud to say I got first! Which is surprising because I usually lose by a long shot. I entered a Tough Contest with my Marshtomp. I used 3 of his 4 moves: Tackle, Bide, and Mud Shot.
*- heart
X-jam
Tackle: a highly appealing move
****
Bide: Can avoid being startled by others
*
Mud Shot: Badly startles those that have made appeals
*
XXX
If you are competing with only CPU's, which I always do, then you will be contestant #4. In my case, I have been contestant #4 all my life save once. By starting off with Mud Shot, you have the potential to startle all other contestants. Though at that point they cannot retrogress, you can prevent from moving forward as much as would have originally. When you are first, it can be beneficial to use Bide because there you have the highest chance of someone startling your Pokemon. Tackle is a little better than the basic move which only gives 3 hearts. That way, when you know that you will win the audiences applause, you can use Tackle and receive the most points. In the last round, I was first and fixing to win the audiences applause. I took a risk and used Tackle instead of Bide. In the end, even though I was startled, I still earned the same amount of hearts as I would have if I used Bide. However, if it was a stronger jamming move, then I would've been better off using Bide. Sometimes, it can pay off to do a little math and predicting. Though you shouldn't spend your day working out a complex formula just to win.
This was just an example of how to you can use your moves and turn to your advantage. (Though sometimes you just can't do anything with your moves besides for hope for the best.) I'm not saying you should start your game over and go with a Mudkip to do exactly what I did. In fact, I chose Mudkip just for old times sake. It was very surprising to learn that he had such good contest moves.

This is just a random note
I generally use 2 nicknames: Pokemoon and Pokemoonthe1st.
It's not very useful to identify me by because I only use them the majority of the time and I use Pokemoonthe1st when Pokemoon is taken. So therefore Pokemoon must be a popular user name. In fact, when I was making the URL, I had to use the current one because Pokemoon was already taken.
In any case, it's a general rule. So just know, if you encounter Pokemoon, it might be me, if you encounter Pokemoonthe1st, there's a higher chance it's me than if it was Pokemoon.
Not very useful, but in case you were wondering. I'll more than likely post tomorrow .

Summer Vacation
Hey people! Tomorrow is the last day of school! I'm so excited for summer. I'm going to China over the break and I'm really happy. I might not post for a while, but I'll have a lot to write when I get back. I'll be leaving towards the end of June, so I'll have about a month of free time. And you know what free time means. That's correct; more time to argue with myself over whether I should post or not!

Yay!
Even though I constantly forget to post, my guide is finally getting long!
I'm sorry! I'm a disgrace to all guide writers!
In any case, I will try to post more.
I'm not sure if I told you, but I did beat Lance in HG, but once I got to Kanto? or was it Johto?
Anyways, I'm entirely confused! What is the order for gyms?! I just want to get to Prof. Oaks lab!
And then start from Brock to Misty and so on!
Well, I've finished telling my sob story. Please email me if you have any question! :)

I never thought of it until now, but my guides probably aren't useful since most people play newer games. I mean, think about it: how many game systems and games have come out since Sapphire came out? Though I guess it must be useful to someone if you're here.
I really like eclipses. This has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but it's true. I really like how they leave room for contemplation.
Lastly, can just anybody comment? I saw a comment tab in the thingymabob, but maybe you have to meet certain requirements to comment. I guess you can email me if you can't comment.
One more thing, do I say 'I guess' too much? I really aught to be more definitive. I sound like Uncle, how nostalgic :)

EXP
In Pokemon, as far as I know, the amount of EXP gained depends on 3 things.
1. The level of wild Pokemon
2. The wild Pokemon's evolutionary stage.
3. Just the Pokemon you're battling against.
In other words, a level 56 Poliwhirl will give less EXP than a level 56 Poliwrath. Say you're surfing, surfing and surfing some more, and you run into that level 56 Poliwhirl and battle it with your level 23 Marill. Your Marill somehow manages to beat the Poliwhirl and it's EXP bar fills seven eighths of the way up. You finish the battle and switch your first Pokemon to your level 63 Flaffy. Then you run into another level 56 Poliwhirl. You beat it and your EXP bar only goes up one eighth of the way. That doesn't mean that Flaffy received less EXP, but rather, it needs more EXP to level up. The EXP bar never changes, so it would only be natural that the increments that it fills up by changes. Of course this might not be true in the case of legendaries, but I don't battle them on a daily basis. The level or type of your Pokemon doesn't change the amount of EXP that you gain. It's just that the individual Pokemon will make it appear as if it gains more or less EXP. I know that Ralts is one of the more patience requiring ones and most bug Pokemon are easy to level up.
I'm not sure if there's a more scientific reason than just because behind it, but some Pokemon give more EXP when defeated than others. I noticed it when training my Pokemon to defeat Lance, but it never really registered more than 'Donphan Donphan Donphan Donphan, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It's an Onix... Why not at least a Graveler, or Golbat? *sniffle*' It actually occurred to me when going through Granite Cave, how I ran away from Zubats because they didn't give very much EXP and I always hoped for Makuhitas.

Sigh... How many times have I tried to defeat Lance?,
Today I finished training my Pokemon to face the Indigo Plateau in Heart Gold. I defeated Will, Koga, Bruno, and Karen each only taking a few hits. Most of their Pokemon I defeated with one hit using type as well as level advantages. Then I came to face Lance with my starter at level 50 and the rest of my party at either 48 or 49 only to be defeated and having to reload... Truthfully I wouldn't have a problem being defeated and going back to train, but that means I would have to pay up a pretty penny to Lance. What to do indeed, I've already tried numerous times.
In conclusion. For all people about to face the Indigo Plateau in Heart Gold or Soul Silver-
Four the first four trainers, you shouldn't have a problem as long as your Pokemon have been sufficiently trained and you don't pit your Jumpluff against a Houndoom. (Your own Pokemon against one that's super-effective against it.) Lance is another story altogether. He has a level 46 Gyarados, a level 48 Aerodactyl, 2 level 49 Dragonite, a level 50 Dragonite, and another Pokemon that I haven't seen yet, though I doubt it's stronger than his level 50 Dragonite. His Gyarados is a piece of cake if you have a Pokemon that is super-effective against it. In my case it was my Ampharos. It took half of my party to take down his level 50 Dragonite, leaving me with a Poliwhirl, Ampharos, and Typhlosion. Once I was miraculously able to take down in of his level 49 Dragonite, but that left me with just my Poliwhirl. Other than that I was always defeated by one of his level 49 Dragonite. My only tip for you is to train train train! :)

HI!
Hey guys! What I want to do here is to create guides on my 2 favorite video game series. My first one is on Pokemon Sapphire, the first Pokemon game I ever played with an understanding. Well, the first Pokemon game I ever played with an understanding was Emerald, but they're pretty close.
About me
I'm 13. I spend my time doing homework, hanging out with my friends, thinking up ideas that never work, trying to improve my grades, origami, some sort of craft, and the computer. I like anime and manga; the first anime I ever watched was Naruto, and the first manga I ever read was Kaichou wa Maid sama. I also watch One Piece and Fairy Tail, and I also read Pandora Hearts, Vampire Knight, Gakuen Alice, and Skip Beat. My friends used to always help me on my games, so I want to help others now. I will post a few times a week. If you want to contact me I have a Facebook, Skype and email. I never go on Facebook, I only use Skype to talk with my brother who is currently in college, and I only check my emails once a month or so. In other words, you can email me any questions or comments and expect a reply within a month. My email is: Halia.Kaze@gmail.com. (That's not my name, I just used the basic real name format. Don't ask where I got it.)I doubt capitalization counts, but I always capitalize. I hope that my guides will be helpful! :)
