Ganbatte

Watching inspiring anime makes me want to practice viola.

It also makes me want to watch the next episode.

iOS 8

It's been a while since iOS 8 was released, but I've been living with it as best as I can.

I'll be honest and say it was my fault for downloading it in the first place. The story goes: I was in English and somebody asked me, "Hey, have you downloaded iOS 8 yet?"

Since I hadn't, I responded, "No."

So he told me, "You should."

I went home and I tried to download it, but it told me something about not having enough space on my phone. I didn't exactly understand what that meant, so I just connected my phone to iTunes and tried again. It still told me I didn't have enough space, so I deleted everything I could - including old test messages - and somehow managed to get it to download.

Then I started to understand what 'not enough space' meant.

I used to have a plethora of games on my phone. Shortly before getting iOS 8, I had Gardenscapes, Where's My Water, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, Flappy Golf, The Impossible Game, Yes Chef, Plants vs Zombies 2, and Dragonvale on my phone. As well as useful stuff like Google Docs, Google Drive. Google Sheets, Charms, Quizlet, and Spotify. I'm not quite sure where Manga Rock falls, but I had that too.

It started with the pictures

I'm a girl. I like pictures as long as they're not of me. I used to take pictures of people, food, things I drew, the sky, weird things at Chinatown, etc. But then my phone started telling me I didn't have enough space.

So I deleted some of my games.

It was okay for a while afterwords as long as I didn't have too many photos stored at one time, which was kind of annoying because I had to delete the photo after emailing it to myself and then delete it from the deleted photos album.

But then it got bad again. I don't even know what I did. So I deleted the rest of my games as well as all of my useful apps except for Charms because I need it for school.

It got okay for a while again, but recently, my phone has been giving me these messages saying that there's not enough storage space. It used to do it once in a while, but now they come at least once every few days.

And it ends with the pictures.

I drew something today that actually looks kind of decent, but I can't share it with the world because iOS 8 sucks. Why does 'Photos and Camera' take up 19.5 MB when I have no photos and can't use the camera? Literally. When I open up the camera, it gives me a black screen and there's a small square with the last photo that I took with my phone that I deleted a long time ago. Why does 'iBooks' take up 17.7 MB when I have no books? Why does 'Podcasts' take up 4 MB when I've never opened it? Why does it only take up 656 KB when I've finally opened it and deleted 2 playlists. How large can completely empty playlists be?

I have faded memories of playing Quiz Up on my phone way back when. A little more recently, I remember playing Yes Chef. But my most vivid memories of my phone involve reading fanfiction because that is the most exciting thing I can do with my phone - Safari.

Not that the internet isn't exciting, but anything more useful, say... a news article, will probably be too long and too ad riddled to load.

If you haven't noticed, this was just a rant. Anyways, bottom line is that I really hate iOS 8. I reluctantly accepted that I would no longer be able to record videos on my phone long ago, but now it's become evident that I can't take pictures either.

This iPhone is the second phone I've ever had in my life. The first one was an LG Chocolate slider. I could call people, text people, and take photos and videos with it. I also had a few games like Pac-man and Tetris. There was also this game where you had a person and did stuff with them. I didn't really understand it. I also figured out a way to play songs on it by creating an audio recording of songs and playing them back.

My current phone can call people, text people, and access the internet. It's monthly plan is a lot more expensive than my old one.

My point would be much more valid if I could say that I prefer my old phone to my iPhone, but I don't. I'll admit that not only does the internet save me from a lot of zeroes on my homework, but it's also easier to use. On the other hand, I would seriously consider switching back to my old phone. I used to take pictures of the textbook on my old phone, which would cover my homework problem.

I missed my chance to wrap this up nicely, so I'm just going to backtrack and say I really hate iOS 8.

2015

I forgot to wish you guys a happy new year, so I guess I'll do it now.

Happy New Years!

Anyways, I haven't added played any Rune Factory lately, or any game for that matter except Mario Kart, but I'll get back to it eventually. I just wanted to tell you guys about my dream.

I only remember a bit of it, but I was basically Raguna's guide - I was like his Sparx. I was trying to get him to go to whale island, but he wouldn't believe that there was actually stuff on it, so I kept badgering him  to go there and finally he was like, "Fine. I'll check it out." So I bring him to this ivy covered wall and say, "Climb." Of course he looks at me like I'm crazy because the wall is really tall, but since he's a super hot macho man, he barely sweats a brow while climbing it. When the two of us reach the top, because in dreams I too can climb ivy covered walls, I remember that we're not supposed to take the ivy covered wall to whale island, we're supposed to take the beanstalk. Being the gentleman he is, Raguna - more of an Owen (ToT)/Raguna crossover - offers his hand, but I'm like, "Hey, my bad. We went the wrong way." and I slide all the way back down and he's just leaning there all confused. He follows me back down and I'm speed walking through the town looking for Iris. I have no idea where she is, so I stop a villager and they tell me she's somewhere (I forgot what they said). As I'm making my way to Iris, Owen!Raguna is asking me all sorts of questions about why we went back down, what I'm doing, etc. We make it to where Iris is, I tap her on the shoulder, she turns around, and she looks like Iris Fey, but with purple hair, which I guess comes from the Iris from Pokemon.

That's all I remember. Very anti-climactic, I know, but it did remind me that there's more to life than fanfiction and WHAP notes. Namely, practicing viola.

Haha, jk. The point is that I've remembered my dream for the first time in a long time and it's made me want to get back to my DS and do stuff that doesn't involve my phone.

Greek Myth

This has nothing to do with anything, but I was collecting clues and I just have to mention 2 thoughts.

1. Greek artists hate shirts

2. My favorite part of The Odyssey is when Achilles kills Hector (rather easily) and then he drags the poor guy from a chariot and is like, "I. KILLED. HECTOR! I WILL BURY TROY!"

I don't think it happened in the movie, but I could totally imagine Hector showing off Patroclus's dead body and Achilles yelling, "HECTOOORRR!" and then Achilles kills Hector and drags him around.

Which leads to me being inspired to write a scene like that.

Merry Turkey Day!

I hope that you guys have a happy holiday and are spending it with whoever makes you happy!

I've posted the Delirium Lava Ruins page. Due to some reason or another, the numbering and order are screwy. Sorry about that. I wanted to post it today, but I still plan to run through it a few more times before school starts again.

Joke Time!

I made a variation on a joke that some of you may be familiar with. I think it's pretty funny. I'm always more eager to post things that I 'invent' because minds are turning all over the world and it makes me feel like if I don't post it now, then someone will beat me to the punch.

In any case, the joke can be found under my innovations page titled 'What's Green and Blue and Round All Over?'

Rant

So there was this upperclassman in my orchestra last year and she would always give my friend and me advice on high school and stuff. I thought she was so cool because she's involved in a ton of extra-cirriculars and just seemed really mature and nice.

And then this year, I saw her at open house and tried to make eye-contact with/say hi to her, but she didn't see me. Then the school year started and I slowly realized that she's ignoring me. I realized it within the first few weeks of school, but I'm only writing about it now because it pisses me off and I need to write about it. It's ok to blog about this kind of stuff because it's all anonymous, right?

As a brief background, I'll explain how I perceive her personality.

I think that she's going to be really successful in the world. As in, she's really organized and on top of things. As well as ambitious and a good actor. I think that she may be a good friend/decent person because I know a lot of her friends and they're all good people and there isn't any big gossip about her. Except that entire sentence is probably pretty inaccurate because I live under a rock; therefore, I don't know any of the gossip and I'm not that close with the orchestra people so maybe they're not as good people as I thought.

It's too complicated to explain my view of the orchestra hierarchy and society in general, maybe those of you fellow 'quiet people' who live somewhere between friends and acquaintances with most others will understand. Or whoever, it doesn't matter where you lay in the game of life.

Back to the her personality. She knows how to play her cards, if I'm using that expression correctly. I think that she knows when to keep quiet and who she can afford to not be friends with. Remember that this is all speculation, so I'll keep the 'I think' off of the beginning of every sentence. We were going to be in the same orchestra and same section for an entire year and she probably thought I would be able to make a higher orchestra next year, which is good grounds for making a 'friend'. I know when people first see me, they think that I'm smart and demure, but I don't know if they can see my arrogance once they get to know me. I hope they can't, but maybe she saw that I was ambitious and thought that I actually had the ability to make them come true.

The point is that even though I knew she's ambitious, I thought that she was also friendly and liked me. I'm 99% sure I'm wrong about the last part.

This rant has been rolling around in my head for a few weeks, so here goes:

I'm not exactly sure which part of me screams 'befriend me and then ditch me when we don't share a class anymore', but it's lying.

If you don't like me, then don't say hi to me in the hall. If you don't like me, then don't compliment me or talk to me unless necessary.

I get that I'm not the coolest person in the world and I entirely understand if you don't like me. If, for some reason, you have established contact with me and no longer want to have anything to do with me, then do not leave me awkwardly trying to make eye contact with you for 2 weeks. I do not appreciate awkwardly trying to make eye contact with someone for 2 weeks. It's embarrassing.

Just tell me. You can tell me in whatever way you want. You can say 'I don't like you' or cuss me out. You can tell me to stay away from you or to die in a hole. I will be honest, all of the above will hurt my feelings, but completely ignoring me also hurts my feelings. Yes, I have feelings. Is that surprising? Do I seem like the unfeeling type? I don't know.

In any case, the only difference between ignoring me and being honest is by the time I realize you're ignoring me, I would have already gotten over my hurt feelings.

I faintly realize that it's not the norm to tell somebody you dislike them and it's not something I do myself. But at the same time, I don't ignore people. And if I do, it's not on purpose. If somebody tries to talk to me, but I hate their guts, I won't ignore them. I might not be as...warm as I would to somebody I consider a friend, but I'll do my best to be nice and sociable. I don't care how often we see each other, what your grades are, how good looking your face is, or what orchestra you're in. If you talk to me, I'll talk to you. If you wave hi to me in the hall, I'll wave hi back as long as I see it.

So I guess it's ok to dislike me, but still talk to me as long as you intend to see it through?

It would actually be pretty nice if you told me what part of me you don't like. Do you not like my face? My personality? The way I talk? The things I say? Did I run over your chinchilla?

It would make my day, if someone just told me how to act. Or if I had this guide to social interactions. That would be amazing.

I don't know exactly who 'you' is, but it's a rant, I don't care. Same with how the coherence begins to fall apart in the last few paragraphs. This has once again become an extremely long post, sorry about that. I will probably add more to this later or even make a page on my opinion on society and people. But for now, I need to do WHAP hw... TT_TT

As a last note, I do have a tendency to have a skewed view of people and anything that involves social interactions, so I could be completely wrong.
